Daileen Cazalvilla Presentation Overview

 Presenting always has been a very difficult situation for many people is stressful and sometimes even boring. Also learning by reading a textbook can be very boring and frustrating, memorizing key points, or gather the important information for a test, is a really stressful situation. In our speech class, we learned how to make those two problems very easy and even entertained. Instead of reading and memorizing the book, our professor had us break into groups and present all chapters of the book, making it a very different but entertained way of learning. All groups were divided into a number of chapters, and each one of us had to explain the topics to an audience (our classmates).

Group 1 presented chapters from 1 to 4, which explained the tips that we need to give a good speech. In this presentation, the group show knowledge of the content they were presented, and also the unity and relation from one topic to another. Also, this group did a good job in getting the attention of the audience by using images very well related to the topics they were presenting.

Group 2 presented chapters from 5 to 9 in which they explained how to gather the information need it for a presentation and also how to support the information with reliable sources. This group also did a very good presentation, they used the techniques that were taught by group one. They also incorporated into their presentation a video of Barack Obama giving a speech using all the techniques, they were teaching us, so this was a very helpful tip of how to give an appropriate speech. It was a very interesting presentation.

Group 3 presented chapters from 10 to 12 and also the appendix. They gave us information about the types of information there are. They also did a great job at explaining the topics, the show unity in their presentation, and being the last group to presented they could take all the advises and tips given by the first two groups. They also used a video, but it was a different one, they used an anime video relating to the topics they were explaining, getting the attention of the audience.

All three groups did a wonderful job. They all explained their topics very well, using clear points and examples in their presentation to teach their topics. Each group show great effort and commitment in explaining all topics, they all did a very entertained and interactive speech, and make what would be a very stressful or boring situation that is reading a book a taking notes, they made it very easy and interesting with their presentation. It was way better learning the book from the explanation that our classmates gave us, and it was funnier, also it was great to work together in groups, and I think it was easier for everybody to learn by the explanation and examples that were shown in our presentations than it would have been by reading the book.

Group 3 started off their presentations by talking about the future of social media. They focused on the negative and positive effects of social media. They correlated mental health issues, cyber bullying, and sexting to social media's negative attributes. They also associated social media's positive attributes to be creativity, learning opportunities, and socialization. They also highlighted that social content creators have been the new career path for many people. Unfortunately criminals have access to your personal information. Amanda Melendez Group Presentation Overview

  All of the group presentations were splendid. I was the leader of Group 1. Amber was the technical person of the group. This group project was an insightful opportunity. We were able to work together and learn from each other's ideas. Our group went over   how to prepare for a speech. We spoke about the importance of reducing your fears and maintaining focus when giving a speech. Public Speaking is about engaging your creative thinking skills and practicing active listening.
